There is a special note on the National Parks...their history and how they preserve our American heritage. There are lists of the National Parks related to Colonial and Revolutionary War times, Sites of Remembrance (for our Veterans), and of our most cherished National Parks. There are over 50 pages of historical sketches and images. Printed book size is 8.5" x 11" There is so much more in this Second Edition. (Revised January 2017). The book is Nonpartisan. The e-book Americana A Civics Handbook was a pretty good book that explained American history and traditions. I doubt that one could find a better handbook for explaining American culture from the founding of each of the 13 colonies to the Declaration of Independence to the Pledge of Allegiance. The book provides the complete text of the Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution with all the amendments from 1 to 26. There is so much information about the United States that it would take several pages to describe that information in a review of the book. I especially enjoyed the Civics Test; I wonder how many Americans could get 60/100 questions correct? I have quite a few other thoughts, but the e-book is nonpolitical, so I will not add any political statements. I will just say that all Americans what ever their political points of view should read the book. I did find a partial error in one of the questions.Product details

I love this book. It's full of information in friendly, fun format. The references validate the information and the organization is so sensible. The Citizenship test is an added pleasure, kind of a trivial learning game. I like this book so much, already gifted it and plan to continue gifting it as occasions allow. Want to learn the foundations of our nation? This book provides so much information you won't be sorry.
I love this handbook! I keep it on a table in my living room This book is clearly written, concise, comprehensive.and coherent. I find it not only educational and great for review, but interesting. It really does have it all, from early American history to Preparration for the Citizenship Test, as well as the Test, so you may study and test yourself. Americana A Civics Handbook is a delight. It came in handy for me when planning a Southwest trip. It is full of information about being an American and living in this land.
It did not have all the information that I was looking for.
